Your sign has arrived, now let’s get it on the wall. Here is how to install a neon sign safely in about ten minutes, plus a few habits that keep it bright for years.
What’s in the box
- Your neon sign on clear acrylic.
- A 12 V power adapter with a clear cable.
- A dimmer remote.
- Wall screws with stand-offs, and/or a hanging chain.
Option 1: Wall mounting with stand-offs
- Hold the sign against the wall and check it is level. Keep it within reach of a socket.
- Mark the holes through the acrylic with a pencil.
- Drill, insert wall plugs and screw in the stand-off bases.
- Place the sign and screw on the stand-off caps.
- Plug in the adapter and switch on with the remote.
Option 2: Hanging with chains
Perfect for rented homes and shop windows. Fix two hooks to the ceiling or a rail, attach the chains to the holes at the top of the sign, and adjust until it hangs level.

Option 3: Table or shelf
Smaller signs can stand on a shelf or desk with an acrylic stand. Keep the adapter away from water.
Care tips
- Wipe the sign with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners.
- Don’t bend the neon tubes; they are fixed to the acrylic.
- Use the dimmer at night; lower brightness extends LED life.
- Keep indoor signs away from rain and steam. Use the waterproof build outdoors.
- Switch off at the socket when you are away for long periods.
